Cessna Aircraft Company traces its history back to June 1911, when Clyde Cessna a farmer in Kansas built a fabric and wood plane and became the first to fly an aircraft between the Rocky Mountains and the Mississippi river. After World War II Cessna designed the 170 model which along with later models became the most widely produced light aircraft in history. Cessna's advertising boasts that its aircraft have trained more pilots than those of any other company. Along with the Cessna 170 there were several popular single engine designs which included; the Cessna 150, Cessna 152, Cessna 172, Cessna 180,Cessna 182, Cessna 206 and the Cessna 310.
