The Cessna 172 is a single engine, four seat, high wing airplane. The 172 was first produced in 1956 and is still in production today. Over 43,000 Cessna 172s have been built. More Cessna 172s have been built than any other aircraft in the world. Cessna made many different models of the 172 including a training airplane for the military called the T-41 Mescalero. The 172 is probably the most popular flight training airplane in the world.
